I think I’ve actually now decided; I’m 100%, completely, absolutely sure. Center Parcs is my favourite place in the whole world. Before I went there last weekend I wasn’t sure if I could call it my most loved place but having thought about it there is no-where else in the world that I miss as much as that place! To be fair, I can’t say I’ve been to THAT many places in my life. My scratch-off world map is looking a little bare at the moment. But having been to Center Parcs god-knows how many times since I was little, I now know it like the back of my hand and I freakin love it.
For those of you that are unaware of what ‘Center Parcs’ is, there are five Parcs in the UK (and some around Europe too, although I believe they are slightly different) and in each Parc there are hundreds of lodges, apartments and even a few gorgeous treehouses. Also a swimming complex, various different types of shops, a mini supermarket, a spa, a sports complex and a large selection of restaurants (some of theee best restaurants I’ve ever been in!). There are no cars allowed in the Parc which means you have to either walk everywhere (strangely relaxing) or take the land train.
I don’t know if I could pinpoint exactly what it is about it I love so much. Maybe it’s the fact that the Longleat Parc is only an hour and a half drive away, maybe the cute little lodges that you stay in and how they’re decorated EXACTLY like my dream home, or maybe how everything you could possibly want and need is in a little village that you don’t leave for the whole of your stay. My boyfriend and I went there for his birthday last weekend after I begged him to go with me and I managed to convince him that he would enjoy it! I could tell at the start he was sceptical about whether he would enjoy it or not but at the end he told me he actually had a really good time and wants to go again! YAAAY!
If you are looking for somewhere to go for a mini-break in the UK I honestly couldn’t recommend Center Parcs enough, there is something for everyone and you can do as much or as little as you like! Definitely try and go in term time as prices go crazy in half term and holidays and if you go to the Longleat Parc and you like pancakes, go to The Pancake House. I promise you, you won’t regret it!!
Have you ever been to any of the Parcs? I would love to know what the others are like!
