Yaaaaaay, I’ve finally got myself organised enough to actually do a favourites post! Usually I don’t think about my favourites until half way through the next month which is obviously far too late.
This month hasn’t been a bad one to be honest. I’ve really been getting into my gym routine and I’m now going as much as I can. I’m at the point now where I’m actually starting to see results and I love it! Something I have always struggled with is that you don’t usually see any results from regular exercise for a long long time, and most people give up because of this. If you’ve just started going to the gym 1. well done! That is a massive step in itself. And 2. stick with it! You probably won’t see any results (depending on your starting weight and body fat percentage) for a few months. Anyway, that was a bit of a random burst but I feel like no one ever talks about the stage where you feel crap because nothing is changing!
March turned a little at the end when the radiator in my car decided to retire which meant I couldn’t get to work 🙁 but hey, I had a lovely couple of days off in the sun! And last weekend I baked some amaaaaazing pistachio cupcakes which I’ll be posting about next Monday; they are probably the best cakes I’ve ever made so get excited for those!!
Now, enough chatting, let’s get on with the favourites!
Primark Top – £10?
Sorry, I can’t remember how much this cost but it was around £10, maybe £13? But even at £13 it is such a bargain! I have become absolutley obsessed with embroidery this month. However, I’ve learnt that you have to buy right. Some pieces have the embroided piece sewn on with just a couple of stitches which wouldn’t last a second in my hands! Even though this top is from Primark it’s actually really great quality! I love the added flares on the sleeves as well.
New Look Boots – £38
See a theme here? But seriously, oh my days. These boots are probably the most beautiful shoes I’ve ever owned. I’m trying to make myself wear them as much as possible because I don’t want them to just sit around and not make it outside! They’re very light and therefore very easy to stain so I’m looking forward to better weather when I can wear them a bit more. They’re pretty expensive for New Look but I managed to use a coupon on them and paid just £25! So so happy with them 🙂
I’ve always been a big lover of the OGX range. I don’t know what it is they put in their formulations but their products always give amazing results. They’re pretty expensive but I usually just look out for when they’re on offer and stock up! Another thing I love about the range is that all of their products are sulphate free, which I now have to buy after having the keratin treatment on my hair. The Kukui Oil products are definitely my favourite after trying out most of the range!
Olay Ultimate Eye Cream – £25 (also currently on offer in Boots!!)
If, like me, you’ve been looking at eye creams recently and which one to buy then you probably will have found that they’re all pretty expensive! I was so scared of paying out £20/£30 on an eye cream and it did absolutely nothing. Safe to say I did my research! This eye cream was on offer in Boots and when I thought about it, Olay is one of those brands that I really trust for skin care. Any time I’ve used their products before I’ve had a good experience with them and so I thought, if I’m going to risk it then I’m going to risk it with this one! I’m so glad I did. As you can see from the photo the cream is tinted and so it acts as a slight concealer on your dark circles. I can’t speak about the claims that it renews the skins surface etc as I haven’t been using it for that long but it 100% works on dark circles.
I bought this mist last year when I was in America. It got put away with the rest of my collection (!) and forgotten about until the other day when I was reaching for a new scent. This smell takes me right back to my holiday and fun, sunny times! Hollister mists are a lot stronger that other mists I’ve bought and hang around for longer in the day too. I will definitely be buying more when this bottle runs out!
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins – £5.99
I’m not going to lie, I was technically reading this book for about four months… but the point is that I finished it in this month okay?! The film of this book came out a couple of months ago and I wanted to watch it soooo so bad! It would be silly to watch the film when I was half way through the book so I said to myself that I had to finish the book before I’m allowed to watch the film. This really spurred me on and I’m happy to announce I have finally finished it!!! Oh my goodness. The way it changes at the end and becomes so dark?! I love it! The story is so gripping, I would really recommend you read this book if you haven’t already. If you have, or if you’ve watched the film, please let me know what you think of it in the comments below!
Broadchurch – ITV
This has to be my favourite TV show so far this year, let alone in March. It’s one of those programmes that makes you feel like you can’t look away for a second or you’ll miss something. For those that don’t know what Broadchurch is about, at the start of the season you find out that a crime has happened (in this case a woman was raped) and the whole season revolves around investigating the various suspects. Clues and evidence are found and you usually end up believing it was every suspect at one point or another. The actors are amazing, the storyline is amazing, I would say I don’t want it to end but actually I really want to find out who the culprit is so, yeah I do want it to end! I cannot wait to find out who did it! If you want to watch it you can catch up on the ITV Hub.
Let me know what your favourites are for March and if you’ve found any fab new products!
