Happy Easter everyone! I hope you’ve had a lovely long weekend and that you’ve eaten your body weight in chocolate (actually maybe not, that is a little extreme). Whether you celebrate it or not, I think we can all appreciate the two bank holidays we get from it! April is definitely one of my favourite times of the year. To me it means; Easter (depending on when it falls), longer days, warmer weather and my birthday! Although, I currently only have two days left of being 22 which kinda scares me, how is time going so quickly??! I’ve decided I’m going to do a bucket list of 23 things to do in the year that I’m 23 aaaaand I’m going to post it on here next Monday, so keep your eyes peeled for that 🙂
This week I HAVE to share my new obsession with you. The wonderful creation that is the Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation. I was introducted to it by the lovely Danielle Mansutti on one of her makeup tutorials. If you’ve read my ‘Everyday Makeup’ post then you’ll know that I’ve been looking for a new foundation for a while but it was proving difficult to find a foundation that has really good coverage but is also pale enough for my skin, so I just stuck to the same foundation that I’ve been using forever! As you’ll read later, this foundation isn’t exactly the right shade (lol, see picture below) BUT, I don’t even care! The coverage is the best I have ever seen.
So my usual makeup routine is: Apply a little bit of concealer to the worst of my red areas, then apply foundation, then use concealer as normal on any red patches and under my eyes. With this foundation I can completely ignore the second round of concealer that I would normally apply! The foundation is so high in coverage it covers 99% of blemishes and any dark under-eye circles. It doesn’t feel cakey and I can’t really even feel it on my skin. The bottle describes the foundation as having a ‘Matte Finish’ so it’s probably not for you if you have very very dry skin, however, I have dry skin in areas and I don’t find it sinks in too much or highlights it at all.
Okay, so, bad points. This is the palest shade that they do. Which, kind of amazes me to be honest. I mean, I know I’m pale as hell (I’m the whitest shade of white you’ve ever seen), but you would think that they could do a shade a little bit lighter than this?! To solve my problem I’m just going to cover my neck in the foundation too so that I don’t have the dreaded orange face, but this will mean I use the bottle up much quicker 🙁
Price-wise this foundation will set you back £29. In my eyes that isn’t toooo bad, especially for a product that I really love. It just depends how quickly I get through it that will determine if the price is too much for me.
Have you ever tried this foundation? If you haven’t, and you’re looking for a high coverage foundation, I would highly recommend going to a counter and getting a sample – you won’t regret it, I promise!
